Carpet Testing

The simple, safe and accurate way to discover the fiber content of carpets. Non-destructively, within seconds.
Burn testing is both destructive, and a health and safety hazard

Test carpets quickly and non-destructively.

If you enter the search term "How to find out what a carpet is made from" then you're likely to find references to 'burn tests'. Carpet burn tests involve taking a small sample of the carpet and holding it over a naked flame, to observe whether it shrinks, melts or burns, and noting the resulting smell while avoiding breathing the nasty fumes.

Now there's a much safer, quicker and completely non-destructive alternative for testing carpet and rugs, using Sagitto's 'Lab-in-the-Hand' spectrometer.

Unique fingerprints.

Each carpet has a unique absorption spectrum in the 900nm - 1700nm wavelength range. Sagitto has used these differences to build very accurate classification models, by applying sophisticated machine learning techniques.

No more guessing.
Quantify common mixtures.
Each report has a confidence rating.

Carpet fibre composition in seconds.

It takes only a few seconds to get results from your Sagitto spectrometer. Just place the scanning window against the sample, press the button, and the fibre composition of the carpet will appear on your iOS device (and in the Cloud).
